We are seeking two people who will process, encode and check a range of media from a variety of sources for use in a forthcoming production.

The successful candidates will be highly experienced Media Wranglers, who will work alongside 59's core team on a high profile project, on site in London.

One contract is for 7 weeks and the other for 3 weeks.

Applicants must have:

  • Expert knowledge of video codecs, formats and standards

  • Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Compressor, Final Cut Pro and Photoshop

  • Ability to identify codec problems, corrupt files, dropped frames and dropped pixels, and resolve timecode conflicts

  • Experience of batch processing, file encryption, pixel formats, aspect ratios, frame rates, vector and bitmap file formats on Mac and PC platforms

  • Experience of working with Mac computers, as the role will involve working on either iMacs or MacPros

Also:

  • Networking experience (.afp, .smb protocols) ideal, but not critical

  • Maya experience, managing small Maya and After Effects multi-node render farms ideal but not critical

The successful candidates will be working both from our Hoxton studio and on-site in London.

Pay rate is £800 per week gross.

Motion Graphics/Motion Type Designer & Animator

Fifty Nine Productions is seeking to employ a talented and experienced motion graphics/type designer to work on two high-profile projects on-site at our London studio.

We require two distinct skillsets:

  • The visualisation of scientific and numerical data in a graphical/typographical form, producing primarily 2d illustrated and animated content.

  • The creation of animated motion type effects that and compositing them onto pre-shot live action footage.

The ideal candidate will have excellent After Effects skills, as well as a talent for typography and the clear and dynamic layout of information in a visual form. The use of 3d software such as Maya or Cinema4D is also a bonus. A good working understanding of mathematics is essential.

The work will be integrated into the projection and video design for two of 59's live stage projects, forming a fundamental part of the overall design of the shows.

The successful candidate will be able to work as part of a team, as well as be able to self-direct and coordinate production in order to hit a series of short-term deadlines, as well as the overall final project deadlines.

Dates of contract: 14th May (or ASAP) to 30th July.
