A changing world of light and shadow

A collaboration between longstanding partners 59 and choreographer Kim Brandstrup, Shaken Mirror created a universe of movement, video, lyrics and music inhabited by dancers between the ages of 6 and 70 years old.

Accompanied by the words of the Danish Poet, Søren Ulrik Thomsen, and the music of Hans Abrahamsen, Brandstrup and the Royal Danish Ballet wove a world in which the audience glimpsed fragments of relationships that reflect those in Thomsen’s poems.

Adding to this complex choreography, Bentke Møller’s striking and seemingly ever revolving set was enhanced by carefully timed projections from 59, transforming the space into a continuously changing world of light and shadow.
