In 2014 and 2015, 59 were asked by Vogue Editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour to provide concept design services for the decor for the star-studded Costume Institute Benefit at the Metropolitan Museum – otherwise known as the Met Ball.
The event is the biggest party in the fashion world calendar, and raises millions of dollars each year for the museum’s Anna Wintour Costume Institute. Working closely with the museum and Ms Wintour, 59 designed a series of architectural and decorative installations for the fundraising event, as well as providing creative direction for everything from place settings to lighting. The design was executed by Raul Avila and his team in New York.
