£23,000-£27,000 depending upon experience

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Working with the entire 59 Productions team and external collaborators and suppliers, this role will collaborate closely with designers, directors and senior Technical team members to assist in working through each design phase in order to deliver some of the most innovative and technically challenging projects in the entertainment industry today. An important part of this job is the production of detailed production paperwork to support the communication of complex systems as designed by the broader team. This role will support the critical technical preparatory work of the team and assist in ensuring the safe delivery of projects on site.  This role may require some overseas travel.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Contributing to the technical set up of projects
  • Drawing of ground plans and system schematics
  • Creation of systems specifications
  • Onsite technical work as required, as part of a team
  • Programming a variety of media servers including but not limited to disguise, Watchout, QLab
  • Contacting suppliers in order to generate quotations
  • Model box presentation setups, demo and testing area setups
  • Management of technical stock in coordination with the Technical Intern
  • Working with members of the design departments to assist in their technical requirements, testing, responding to queries

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Required Skills

  • Demonstrable experience in video production for installation, live events or theatre
  • Experience in specifying, implementing, programming and operating complex video systems
  • Ability to proactively research and apply new technical knowledge to current and future projects
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues from all departments and all backgrounds
  • Knowledge of Media Servers (disguise would be advantageous)
  • Basic knowledge of sound for live entertainment
  • Basic knowledge of lighting for live entertainment
  • Basic knowledge of IT and networking for live entertainment
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritizing conflicting demands
  • Proficient in CAD Software (AutoCAD, Vectorworks)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite
  • Proficient in 3D CAD Tools (Rhino, Cinema 4D, Modo etc)
  • Experience drawing schematics
