London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony - 60 Second Countdown from 59 Productions on Vimeo.
This high-octane stop-frame countdown sting which celebrates the energy and diversity of London was shown in the Olympic Stadium and simultaneously broadcast nationwide on the BBC and other networks at 20:59 on the 27th July 2012. It was also used to open the Closing Ceremony two weeks later.
Produced by 59 - video designers for the Opening Ceremony - the video was directed by Aneil Karia and edited by 59's Joseph Pierce. It was shot by 59 associate artist, Vanessa Whyte. The Countdown was one of a number of live-action sequences created by 59 shown during the ceremony on the big screens in the stadium and also sent direct to TV broadcast worldwide.
