"Fifty Nine Productions are being hailed as the most exciting purveyors of video for theatre in the world..."
Fifty Nine Productions is a film and new media production company which specialises in film making and integrating the moving image into live performance. The company’s team plays both a creative and technical role in the design and realisation of film, theatre, opera, music, ballet and fine art projects.
Creative experience in set design, film production and the visual arts are supported by in-depth technical knowledge. 59’s team is at the leading edge in exploring the application of new technologies and techniques in order to make new ideas possible, often utilising the latest technologies to bring a space to life.
59 has close relationships with many of the top producing venues in the UK, Europe and North America including English National Opera, the Royal Opera House and the Metropolitan Opera New York. Commercial productions in the West End and Broadway are recent additions to the company’s portfolio, and in 2010 59 designed its first of many live rock shows.
"we've come a very long way from the first faltering steps taken by ambitious young companies such as Fecund 15 or so years ago, to the point when earlier this year Leo Warner and Mark Grimmer of Fifty Nine Productions - who have contributed brilliant work to Katie Mitchell's Waves and Attempts on her Life and the projection design for War Horse - were made the National Theatre's youngest ever associates.
"Fifty Nine's contributions to the productions on which they collaborate... are integral to the production and always in service of it."
